Jim LaVerde (Barren Cross, USA) not at EoR - Marcel Bürgi (Silence Lost, CH) leads worship instead
Submitted by archimedes on 17. March 2010 - 9:38.With a very heavy heart Jim Laverde had to cancel his engagement in the EoR worship band because of unchangeable circumstances in his business. Jim attended every EoR up to now... We will miss him very much.
Instead of Jim and his american-swiss band Marcel Bürgi, singer of the hardrock band Silence Lost, will lead worship solo in the EoR services: just vocals and guitar/piano - raw and without makeup. We look forward very much to this new experience!
Recently booked: HB & T-Rage
Submitted by archimedes on 3. February 2010 - 8:25.supported by the two melodic acts HB and T-Rage the line-up of the next EoR is complete so far:
HB (FIN), Symphonic Metal
Tight riff, female vocals and bombastic arrangements. This is the popular sound which HB from the finnish north stands for. The Band around singer Johanna Altonen has released already three albums in Finnish, one of them also in a English version. The Swiss Premiere of HB at the Solidfestival left the big audience in awe – altough it was late night and it was at a festival which is centred on Rock & Pop. Now HB can top it at Elements of Rock in front of a real metal audience.
T-Rage (CH), Hardrock / Melodic Metal
From the Swiss Capital and its mountainous back-country T-Rage storms to Elements of Rock to present itsself as an insider tip to a broad audience. T-Rage don't care for genres and just play what they love: from Glam Rock to gothic flavoured Metal. A melodic delicacy is garanteed when a man (Thomas Winkler, Emerald) and a women (Janine Hulliger, Fragment of Symmetry) share the stage.
News about the day program
Submitted by archimedes on 20. January 2010 - 8:54.This year too there will be an optional but eclectic day program at EoR: services, seminars and a musicians meeting. For the first time we have a prayer room which is open for you all around the clock. You find the info about the day program under the menue 'Information/Program'.

Elements of Rock presents new Bands for 2010
Submitted by archimedes on 3. November 2009 - 19:51.The line-up of the next Elements of Rock Festival in Switzerland is taking shape the longer the more (some additional bands excluded). As usual you can discover a lot of insider tips alongside long established bands. Recently booked:
In Vain (No), Progressive Extreme Metal
Not many bands have achieved what In Vain has: Their debutalbum "The Letter Rain" earned best reviews all over the globe despite the relative small reputation of the band at that time. The mixture of progressiveness, heaviness, complex orchestration und melancholy is simply unique. The Norwegians will honour us at Elements of Rock with their next CD „Mantra“ which will be just in store by then.
World to Ashes (D), Melodic Death Metal
Due to label organised tours the melo deathers from the Schwarzwald are not unknown in our country. The recently released longplayer „In Contemplation of Death“ promises that WtA will be ploughing mightly through the venue.
Doomenicus (IT), Doom Metal
It was anno domini 2009 when the first fulllength-cd of the Italians was born: „Sacred“. It was about time as the many high praises of the press account for. Surly the melancholic performance of Doomenicus will move the hearts of the crowd in the coming April too.
Timesword (IT), Progressive Metal
By now It is known for a long time that best quality metal doesn't have to snow from the north. But nevertheless it is starting what is happening in our southern neighboring country. Timesword with its evocative and melodic vocals and its talented musicans is one of these great and interesting examples of skilled musicianship.
Back Pocket Prophet (UK), Thrash Metal
Great Britain. There is no other nation where first class thrash steel is more enrooted as the green Island. But we suppose that there will be not much green left after the show of BBP. The oldschool but still fresh sound of the Britons thunders too hard from the stage.
Escape from Sickness (CH), Hardcore/Metal
Escape from Sicknes is emotional and honest hardcore from eastern Switzerland. The young band exists since 2007. After the release of their EP "Wounds Become Scars" they are ready to storm the stages of the hard music world.
Kriegerreich (D), Black Metal
The young folks from Nürnberg had their first gig in Switzerland this August at the Immortal Sphere Festival. They convinced everyone with a nasty but melodic black metal performance. So it is but consequential that Kriegerreich gets the opportunity to play a bigger encore at EoR 2010.
For the first time in Europe: X-Sinner at Elements of Rock 2010
Submitted by admin on 3. September 2009 - 21:26.EoR-Headliner 2010: X-Sinner (USA), Hard Rock / Heavy Metall
It was about time: After 20 years as a band the Metal legend X-Sinner from Orange County, California, comes to Europe for the first time. Though there were times of relative silence around the band, X-Sinner is now back with full force. The new album „world covered in blood“ (2008/2009) attests it. And since original guitarist Greg Bishop is on board again, there will be no holding back for the band. Their melodic, AC/DC resembling sound, intoxicates every rocker heart.
Elements of Rock goes into round seven in 2010
Submitted by admin on 13. August 2009 - 9:47.Next year there will be again an Elements of Rock festival. From
April 23rd to 25th 2010 an international line-up of all different styles of metal and extrem rock will be unleashed onto the Stadthofsaal in Uster, Zurich. Beside the concerts at Friday and Saturday night there is a day program for interested folks.
The first three bands are already booked:
Mad Max (Germany), Hard Rock
After 2006 the established old rockers honor the festival for the second time. They have their highly acclaimed third album of their second career on their coat-tails: 'Here we are'. After a lot of touring through all of Europe with scene stars like Axel Rudi Pell and a gig at the legendary Rocklahoma festival in the US we are looking forward to a strong live performance.
Slechtvalk (Netherlands), Black/Viking Metal
The imposing and theatrical gigs of the battle falcons in the past have shaken through the noggin of much a metalhead. After a line-up-change und relative silence around the band Slechtvalk will release their fourth studio album next spring. The new formed baggage longs desperatly to invade the swiss battle ground once again..
Sacrificium (Germany), Death Metal
Claudio Enzler (Thy Bleeding Skies, Rift, My Darkest Hate), regular guest at Elements of Rock, comes back this time with his death metal band Sacrificium presenting their new record that will be released next spring. We cannot wait untill stage hog Claudio plows again the Stadthofsaal with his crew.
